About Black-History-Month.net

Black-History-Month.net was created to help people to learn about the amazing contributions to society by African Americans.  The goal of this website is to serve as a resource of information about African Americans which is usually overlooked.  

This site was began in February, 2003 in honor of Black History Month.  Too many times, only a few people have received recognition for not only their contributions to African Americans but to society as a whole.  These figures certainly deserve and have earned their place in history, yet there are SO MANY MORE!  

The thought pattern behind this site is to introduce visitors to a wide array of black history makers and by no means does this provide a complete list.

The public school system in the U.S. does not give you fair coverage of the accomplishments of black ancestors.  Therefore, the Internet has become a viable alternative to teach and to learn.

Special note to African American Children:  You are a very special person who represents the future for all people of African descent.  Therefore, it's important that you prepare yourself today so you can best meet the challenges you will face tomorrow.

In the interest and welfare of African American youth, perhaps you can find a hero here.
